The Future of Hispanic Advertising Will Be Written By Our Bloggers

A hub of knowledge regarding Hispanic Marketing Communication
by Joana Wong

Who We Are

We may be young, but we are bright.  What we lack in experience, we make up in edginess.  Simply put, we, the students featured in this blog, are the padawans of Hispanic marketing communication.  Our brains are sponges, ready to absorb information and eager to learn; we digest this information and interpret based on our own experiences.  While studying the art of communicating with Hispanics, we research, we read , and we write.  But that isn’t enough.   Once we submit our ideas and fresh perspectives, they are filed, graded, and dispatched to…Where do they go? To the recycling bin beside the photocopier?  We hope not, but certainly no one else besides the professors at FSU get to read our articles.

What We Want

A platform where we can share our passion for the Latino market: a space to write on our take of what it means to be a Hispanic, what the media is saying about them, and things we could all learn from great campaigns (and crappy ones, too).  That’s where this blog comes into picture: It made perfect sense to start a blog where everyone in the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication (HMC) could collaborate and exchange ideas.

What This Means To You

There will be something in this blog for everyone.

  • For those not familiar with the Hispanic market, here’s a down to earth place to read about it.
  • For students currently taking our courses, this is a great place to get your articles out there (and establish yourself positively when employers search you).
  • For the industry leaders, this will give you a perspective on the intricate views of a younger generation.  By the way, have you considered becoming a mentor to one of our talented students?

What You Should Do Now

Follow us.  Get to know us.  Talk to us.

Tell us what you think about our blogposts in the space for comments below.  There’s nothing that will cheer students more than reading compliments from professionals in the field.

Sincerely,

The Students at the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication
