Maria Padron is a senior majoring in Public Relations and pursuing a minor in Hispanic Marketing Communication. She was raised in Miami Beach, Florida and is of Cuban and Peruvian descent.
Maria helped local business Sunberry Frozen Yogurt Company win the distinguished Best of Tallahassee Awards for Best Healthy Fast Food and Best Ice Cream/Frozen Yogurt as part of a public relations consulting group in 2010. That summer she was an intern at Capital City Bank’s marketing department, where she drafted press releases, assisted in event planning and created social media calendars.
Today she serves on the Florida Public Relations Association’s social committee planning semesterly socials and fund-raising activities for the student chapter. She is also assisting with the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication’s public relations efforts aimed at marketing new courses and other contributions to its programs’ growth.
