Katherine is graduate student at Florida State pursuing a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communication with an emphasis in Hispanic Marketing Communication.  She was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri.  She received her Bachelor degrees from Missouri State University  in Marketing and Spanish.  She returned to Saint Louis, Missouri after graduation to work as a Project Manager at the Kerry Group, LLC, an experiential marketing firm, where she worked for almost 5 years.  There she held many positions and worked with a variety of clients such as Baker Hughes, JTI Inc., ITW Global brands and Shell Oil Lubricants. During her role as the Project Manager of Shell Oil Lubricants Hispanic Initiative’s Grassroots tour she found her true passion of blending her dual degrees to market to Hispanic consumers.  From 2007 – 2009, Katherine was in charge of the nationwide grassroots tour that ran in six of the top 50 DMA metropolises simultaneously each year capturing over 13 million impressions in such cities as Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fresno, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Diego.  She was responsible for managing all aspects of project development and event operations by coordinating staffing, budgets, timelines, and all other day-to-day operations.

Katherine is very excited to be working with FSU’s Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication.  She will be working with the Center’s research team and assisting in event coordination.  She hopes to improve corporate awareness of the growing population of emerging minorities and to educate them on how to capitalize on present and future market conditions.
