Antonieta Reyes Echezuría, known as Toni, was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She was raised in a bicultural setting; half of her childhood was spent in the United States and the other half in Venezuela. In December 2006, she graduated Cum Laude and as Outstanding Senior of the Year with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at the University of South Carolina Aiken. Toni completed a Master’s of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication at Florida State University in 2009. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Mass Communication. Her emphasis is on understanding multicultural markets and their relationships with brands.
As Toni learned the ropes at FSU, she started to get involved with the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication. Since 2008, she’s been teaching the undergraduate course for Hispanic Marketing Communication and since Fall 2011 she has been mentoring the Multicultural Marketing Communication course online. In her free time she enjoys exploring new sushi restaurants with friends, watching movies on the big screen, and checking out new venues.
