NYC 2025 Group Trip

In April 2025, students from the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication (CHMC) had the incredible opportunity to travel to New York City for a field trip that blended professional development with cultural immersion. This experience not only offered a refreshing change of scenery but allowed us to witness firsthand how a city like New York truly moves at the rhythm of marketing, branding, and advertising.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the legendary DEX Advertising agency. We were warmly welcomed by their team and received invaluable one-on-one time with staff members who shared insights, career advice, and personal stories. The lessons we took from DEX gave us a clearer understanding of the industry and left us more inspired than ever to pursue our goals in marketing and communications.

Another standout moment was attending the Hispanic Marketing Council (HMC) Summit. The summit connected us with top CEOs, brand leaders, and content creators who openly shared their journeys and offered practical advice for young professionals. We enjoyed not only the thoughtful panels and discussions but also the dynamic venue and delicious food. Additionally, we visited El Centro—the Center for Puerto Rican Studies—where we explored decades of cultural and advertising archives and admired powerful works of art that reflect Hispanic heritage and identity.

Beyond the professional experiences, we also had the chance to simply enjoy the magic of New York together. From exploring museums like MoMA to trying out incredible restaurants, every moment added to the richness of our trip. Whether we were riding the subway or grabbing our morning croissants, we shared laughter, memories, and meaningful conversations. This unforgettable experience brought us closer as a group, and we’re already looking forward to the next adventure!
