You will also enjoy sharing experiences and networking with other professionals and students.
Starting this May 7, 2012, The Florida State University Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication will offer Account Planning AND Hispanic Marketing Communication ONLINE courses. This time it will also offer both Graduate and Undergraduate online versions. The graduate section is appropriate for those people who have completed their undergraduate degrees and wish to continue their education, and for more seasoned marketers that would like to participate in a higher level discussion of issues and principles. Both summer courses last 13 weeks (classes begin May 7 and end on August 10) and are asynchronous so that distance learners can participate at their own pace and during available times.
The Florida State University Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication, under the direction of distinguished marketing professional and professor, Dr. Felipe Korzenny, is pioneering education in Hispanic and Multicultural Marketing, and is the only one of its kind in the United States. The Account Planning online course instructor is Holly McGavock, a seasoned senior account planner who has studied and worked with the Center for many years.
The online courses are available to anyone interested and are particularly recommended for:
- Professionals currently addressing Account Planning or the Hispanic market and those who would like to start a Hispanic marketing initiative
- Florida State University students (CLICK HERE FOR FSU STUDENT COURSE REGISTRATION), and...
- Students at other Colleges and Universities
The Hispanic Marketing Communication course includes topics such as cultural identity and its impact on consumer behavior, language use, segmentation, acculturation, Hispanic cultural insights for marketing, and case studies relating to Hispanic marketing. The course also addresses how to leverage research and account planning to generate successful strategies. Perhaps most importantly the courses address cultural insights on how to better connect with Hispanics at a more profound and durable level. Several hundred students have now taken these courses and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. They constitute a very good way of learning more about marketing to Hispanics and also are a forum for sharing ideas, problems, and strategic solutions with other marketers.
The Account Planning course will teach more about this field and its role in advertising. The course will benefit anyone interested in consumer behavior and in understanding how to uncover and leverage consumer insights in advertising and marketing. It teaches the tools needed to understand consumers and their relationship with brands, and how to establish rapport with these consumers. Using these skills, they will be able to gain practice in generating insights from consumer behavior and creating relevant communication strategies.
Students can use these courses for academic credit and non-degree seeking professionals obtain a certificate of completion. A certificate of completion will be issued to all students who satisfactorily complete the course, and eligible students can receive three hours of undergraduate/continuing education credit.
